The Sword of the LORD

There are many promises in the Bible that are addressed specifically to "him that overcometh." They include: • To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. • He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death. • To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it. • And he that overcometh, and keepeth My works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations. • He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before My Father, and before His angels. • Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of My God. • To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with Me in My throne, even as I also ov...

"Ye are My witnesses, saith the LORD, and My servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He: before Me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after Me. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside Me there is no Saviour. I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are My witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God." (Isaiah 43:10-12). We often struggle to understand our purpose in this life. We wonder what we should be doing, and how we can best invest ourselves. The answer is very simple - too simple for our finite minds to easily grasp perhaps. We think that we must climb some great mountain peak, locate a mysterious guru perched at the top, and ask him to tell us the meaning of life.
